Prototype Design

What is Prototype Design?
This is a picture of my binder that I made, it was very simple to make. All I did was split a big piece of poster board with a two-inch wide line in the middle. Then carefully cut half way through the line in the middle of the poster board.
This is a picture of a project I recently completed in class. It is a at made of poster board and plastic wheels. I designed it to look like a convertible, I picked teal, pink, and purple to give it a retro feel. The car is powered by a rubber band.

Prototype design teaches students important life skills like basic cutting skills, computer skills, sketching, etc. Prototype design is a great class for future engineers, it is basically a lower level engineering class.

I made a catapult with just a spoon, poster board, and hot glue. I just glued the spoon on to the poster board and made sure the base was elevated for accuracy. My results were 35, 40, and a 70.
This is my prototype design reading journal. In prototype design we write what we do in that class every day. My drawing on the cover is a green and orange flying giraffe lifting weights with his side kick next to him.
I created a letter out of poster board, I first drew the A, then I cut it out and made one-inch strips to glue on all the sides. After that came the fun par, I used all the colors I can think of to put on each side of the letter.

On the right is a picture of origami sunglasses I made in prototype design. It was very simple and only took about ten minutes to make. Mason really likes them!
